Cheesy Hash Brown Potatoes

An easy-to-make dish that provides a great complement to beef steaks and roasts or lamb chops and roasts.  Serves about 10 people.


2 cans, Campbell’s® Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup, regular (10-3/4 oz each)

1/2 cup, skim milk

1/2 teaspoon, black pepper

1 package, Ore-Ida Country Style Hash Browns Shredded Potatoes (30 oz)

1 yellow onion, medium, thinly sliced

2 cups, shredded sharp Cheddar cheese

2 tablespoons, butter, melted

Red pepper (light sprinkle when mixing)

Paprika (for topping)


Combine soup, milk, melted butter, and pepper and mix thoroughly.  Thoroughly mix potatoes, cheese, and onions.  Pour the soup mixture into the potato mixture and mix.  As you mix, add a very light sprinkle of red pepper throughout.  Top with paprika and bake at 375°F for one hour.  Cook for 45 minutes covered and remove the cover for the remaining 15 minutes.
